From Classroom to Boardroom, inside the Zenprova × Superdough Journey

It started with a question every business has to answer: what is this worth, and why should anyone pay for it?

In March, every secondary student at Dwi Emas, some 400 in all, sat down for the first of two Financial First Workshops run by ZenProva’s Jenice Chip. The Pricing Lab came first, followed in April by The Value Prop.

Working in teams, students built strategies for three of Superdough’s entertainment brands: Spy Game, Hauntu and Breakout. This was no hypothetical case study. The brands were real, and so was the company waiting to hear what they came up with.

Ten students stood out. Dubbed the “Elite 10”, they earned a ticket out of the classroom and into the business itself.

Then Came the Real World

On 16 June, the Elite 10 spent a full day inside Superdough’s operations. At The Curve, they toured Spy Game and Hauntu with the operations teams, getting a behind-the-scenes look and asking questions along the way. The day continued at Superdough’s headquarters in Brickfields, where they met CEO Johnny Ong and sat in on a boardroom briefing with the company’s heads of department. Students pressed them on demographics, operational bottlenecks and marketing strategy.

The prospect of meeting a CEO had the younger students buzzing well before the day arrived. What they may not have expected was how seriously their questions would be taken. When Year 7 student, Dylan, answered a question from Superdough CMO, Cheah Kawai, Dylan’s reply caught him completely off guard: “Wow, can you join my team?” Kawai later said he would like to work with Sophie, too.

A five-student media crew from Creative Skills documented the entire day, producing content for Superdough’s own branding efforts.
