Reading Chemistry Textbooks?
Playing Chemistry Games!
Who said learning only comes from flipping through textbooks? Last month, our Year XI students drew up their study boards and creatively came up with games to simplify their understanding of the subject notoriously known for being difficult – Chemistry.
Not only did they have fun designing and crafting their board games and card games, but they were also able to try out each other’s creations in class. Each game covered different topics in Chemistry, enabling the students to learn beyond the topics they were assigned to.
Designing a game focused on a specific topic requires a deep understanding of it and the ability to accurately explain the information during the gameplay. Therefore, we believe that this activity truly helped them further develop their understanding of what they were learning in class. Plus, it’s fun and keeps them interested!
