Food Waste Challenge

We’ve seen pineapple bowls 🍍, but have you seen watermelon bowls?! 🍉
 
Last month, our ACE Biosphere students filled the FoodTech room with the fragrant scent of their masterful cooking as they took part in the 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲! 🍽️
 
Amidst their culinary mastery, a paramount focus was on minimising – or in this case…eliminating food waste! Not only were they given the task to creatively come up with original recipes and food presentations, they also had to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability by utilising every part of their chosen ingredient! Hence, the watermelon bowls. 😉
 
After they diligently prepared their dishes, the students presented them to their teachers, who then tasted their creations and provided feedback on aspects such as appearance, taste, and creativity. 😋This was such a fun and stimulating challenge as it prompted our kids to think outside the box, while also enabling them to apply what they’ve learnt in classes through practical experience. ⚙️
Most importantly, the students thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the challenge as they were able to showcase their artistic expressions through food! We’re so amazed by their creativity and passion, and we can’t wait to see what new dishes they’ll whip up next time! 🤩
